This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to be part of something truly special in our community. As a member of the Lincoln 4th of July Committee, I was honored to help support the 11th annual Turkey Drive here in Lincoln, California. This year, our community came together in a big way, collecting a record-breaking 1,112 turkeys! That’s more than last year, and every single turkey will help make the holidays brighter for families in need.

The turkeys are distributed by The Salt Mine, a faith-based nonprofit organization that serves around 1,800 families in our area. Their work is amazing—truly a lifeline for so many. Not only do they ensure local families have food on the table, but any extra turkeys are shared with the Placer County Food Bank, so the generosity extends even further.

As part of the Lincoln 4th of July Committee, my role was focused on marketing—getting the word out about the event before and after. One of the highlights for me was doing a live broadcast with Eric Jones from The Salt Mine. It was such a fun experience to chat with him about the drive and share the impact it’s having on our community.

Of course, what really made this event special for me was working with the Lincoln 4th of July Committee crew. They’re not just dedicated to making a difference—they’re also a tremendous amount of fun to be around! It’s rare to find a group of people who can work hard and laugh even harder, and I’m so grateful to be part of such an amazing team.

Seeing how many people stepped up to donate was incredibly heartwarming. It’s a reminder of how strong and compassionate our Lincoln community is. This wasn’t just about turkeys; it was about neighbors helping neighbors, and it felt so good to be a part of it.

If you’re looking for ways to give back or support The Salt Mine, I highly recommend checking them out. They’re making a real difference, and it’s inspiring to see their dedication to helping others.
